Fenn Wright Manson (FWM) has enjoyed a long history of success since the company was founded in 1974. The three founders Colin Fenn, Trevor Wright and Glynn Manson shared a vision to design and produce a contemporary collection of quality value ladies apparel.
From its inception, an emphasis on clean design, colour, co-ordination and fabric interest have given the collection its distinct brand profile which is now available at 15 Stores and 90 Concessions throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Journey
FWM's incumbent technology systems were essentially out of date, costly to run and maintain and in addition, the software company they were using were a long way from releasing new features and updates on a windows platform.
Day-to-day management and critical operations such as stock replenishment took too long to complete, resulting in staff down time and a general lack of business efficiency.
Esperus approached FWM with their solution, the Genesis 2000, a business management tool designed specifically for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers in the fashion, footwear and sportswear industries.
The Challenge
The new system needed to be able to integrate seamlessly with FWM’s preferred accounting system (Sun Accounts) and Microsoft Office. It also had to be able to support 25 users performing operations quickly, efficiently and then produce reports accurately for effective decision making.
The Solution
After looking at a number of solutions and comparing the Esperus' Genesis Retail, Epos and Wholesale MIS with other more costly software, FWM decided that it met every expectation and at a price to match.

Because Genesis 2000 is an 'open system' FWM are able to access their data easily with products such as Microsoft Office and Crystal Reports.
The Implementation
Implementing systems of this size is usually never easy, however this proved to be an exception. This was due to Fenn Wright Manson staff, who embraced the changes, working together with the staff at Esperus which ensured a smooth implementation.
There were no major stumbling blocks with the implementation but it was slightly unusual to install the Epos software on to note books, which later on were changed to proper Epos hardware.
The Results
With Genesis, Fenn Wright Manson's entire business cycle can be linked; from replenishment and inter-branch transfers to accounts, e-commerce and reporting.
